Install Day: What to Expect When We Put Permanent Lighting on Your DFW Home
Most DFW one-story installs finish in a single day. Two-story installs run 1.5 to 2 days. Either way, here's exactly what happens on install day so there are no surprises.
8:00 AM — Crew arrival. A two-person crew (three on two-story) parks the trailer at the curb, walks the property with you, confirms the design, and marks the planned channel route in chalk on the fascia.
8:30 AM — Channel install. We mount slim aluminum channel color-matched to your fascia using stainless screws into the wood backing (never the gutter). The channel is what makes the install disappear in daylight — no clips, no zip ties, no holes in the eave.
11:00 AM — Bulb seating. Each commercial-grade RGBW LED snaps into the channel at exact 4-inch spacing for that crisp, factory-perfect line. We test every bulb individually before moving on.
1:00 PM — Power and controller. We mount the weatherproof controller in your garage or a discreet exterior location, run low-voltage wire (no exposed cords), and connect to a dedicated outlet.
2:30 PM — App pairing and walkthrough. We sit with you on your couch, install the Surplife app on your phone, pair the controller, and build your first 5–10 saved scenes together. We don't leave until you've personally cycled through Christmas, Halloween, July 4th, and warm white.
3:30 PM — Cleanup. Every screw, zip-tie scrap, and bulb wrapper goes back on the trailer. We walk the yard with you and confirm everything looks right.
4:00 PM — Lights on. Sundown turns into the moment you've been waiting for. Most customers send us a photo within an hour.
Two-story homes split day 1 (channel + bulbs on the front and one side) and day 2 (remaining sides + power + walkthrough). Same crew, same finish.
